And the elevator mat reminded us that this was Tuesday!

Today we have gone for the dinosaur on our bed to now an Elephant.

Stavanger is a city of 130,000 people but 300,000 live in the metro area. It is an old city dating back to the 12th century and has very deep traditions. It is considered the Oil Capital of Norway, influenced by its location on the Norwegian Section of the North Sea. Equinor is the major oil company with the country of Norway controlling 67% of its stock. But Equinor is more than an oil company, it is an energy company when you consider its holdings of hydro electric plants, wind generated electrical power and petrol.

Too, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization has its European office located in Stavanger. So, our visit today is to a rather sophisticated city and not just a fishing village.

My Mother and Dad years ago on visiting Norway brought me a lovely white wool sweater. It was more than lovely, it was a beautiful work of art. I had two problems with that sweater; and the biggest was that rarely was it cold or wet enough, that I could wear the sweater. Secondly it was white, and it was a magnet for anything even resembling dirt. When we walked by these lovely booths displaying handmade woolen gifts, we smiled and complemented the vendors on the beauty of the art; but remembering that white sweater we kept right on walking.

And we'll close with a surprise for you. You had forever believed that Burger King and the Whopper were a US gift to the world, but we found out that the Whopper is of Norwegian ancestry dating back to 1883.

That the best whopper I can find, and it is up to you to top that.
